    Sprinkle yeast over warm milk and let sit until bubbly, 5-10 minutes

    Add milk mixture to bowl of stand mixer, add in the rest of the dough ingredients

    Knead in stand mixer with hook attachment for 5 minutes (can also knead by hand 5-10 minutes)

    Let rise for 40-60 minutes

    While dough is rising, combine all of the filling ingredients to create a paste

    Roll dough out into a thin, long rectangle

    Spread filling evenly on the rectangle

    Fold the dough in, taking one third from each side and folding in thirds into a square

    Cut into 8 strips, cut from folded to folded side

    Take each strip and cut in half lengthwise but not cutting all the way through

  11. 11

    Twist the strip and form a circle, tucking in the edge as shown in the video

    Let rise for 30 minutes

    Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar and bake at 425 F for 12-15 minutes
