Galbi Jjim | Korean Braised Short Ribs

    soak beef ribs into ice cold water for 1 hour

    place soaked beef ribs into a deep pot

  3. 3

    fill with water just until all the beef ribs are covered and bring it to a boil (skim off any dark foam on top)

    in a blender: garlic, onion, ginger, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil and pear

  5. 5

    lower the heat to low and into the pot add the blended mixture, Diet Coke, brown sugar and black pepper

  6. 6

    lid on and simmer for 2 hours, the liquid should have been reduced by half

  7. 7

    add carrots and sweet purple potatoes

  8. 8

    lid back on for 30 minutes or until the carrots and potatoes are fork tender

  9. 9

    serve over rice and add green onions
