    Caramelize sugar and water until golden brown

    Add red wine and let it cook slowly

    Cut plums in half and add to the red wine

    Add cinnamon and cloves

    Mix cornstarch with lemon juice

    Add to the mix

    Let all cook until plums are soft and the juice thickens
