Apple crisp is one of my favorites! It’s so cozy and tasty. You can make this one directly in a skillet.

Directions

  1. 1

Make the no-churn vanilla ice cream by combining sweetened condensed milk, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract in a bowl and whipping together with a hand mixer till soft peaks form.

  2. 2

Put the ice cream mixture in a loaf dish, cover, and place in the freezer till set.

  3. 3

Remove the ice cream from the freezer about 10-15 minutes prior to serving.

  4. 4

In a 9-inch skillet, add butter, sliced apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss together with your hands or a wooden spoon till apples are coated.

  5. 5

On medium heat, let apples soften for approximately 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

While apples are on the stovetop, make the crumble by combining flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter. Fork together to create crumbles or do this with your hands as well.

  7. 7

Add the crumble to the top of the apples in the skillet and turn off the stove.

  8. 8

Transfer the skillet to the oven at 350 degrees F and bake for 25 minutes till the crisp is golden brown and juices are bubbling.

  9. 9

Assemble by removing the ice cream from the freezer and scooping 3-4 ice cream dollops on top of the crisp. Enjoy!
