My mom’s recipe for rolled puff pastry filled with ground nuts, sugar, and cardamom, topped with orange blossom infused syrup!

Cook time30 minutes

Ingredients

Orange blossom syrup

Nuts mixture

Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 400F.

  2. 2

Divide the puff pastry dough into 2 parts.

  3. 3

On a baking paper dusted with flour, roll the puff pastry to a rectangular with size about 12 inch X 8.5 inch.

  4. 4

Save 4 tablespoons of the nut mixture aside for the topping.

  5. 5

Add half of the remaining nut mixture on top of the dough and spread it evenly.

  6. 6

Roll the dough, 2 rounds at a time, and cut with a knife (see the video). Continue with this method with the rest of the dough.

  7. 7

Repeat steps 5-6 with the second half of the dough.

  8. 8

    You will get 9-10 rolls.

  9. 9

On a greased ceramic pie pan, arrange the Malfouf (rolls) side by side.

  10. 10

Spread 4 tablespoons of the nuts mixture on top and at the sides of the Malfouf.

  11. 11

Bake it the oven on 400F for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.

  12. 12

With a tablespoon, pour the orange blossom syrup evenly on top.
