Vietnamese Caramelized Pork Spareribs/Suon Kho

You can substitute pork ribs with pork belly, chicken thighs, chicken wings or fish steak or fillet. Everyone has their own recipe and this is my Recipe:

    In a pan add cooking oil and 1 tablespoon sugar. Cook until it turn into nice and brown.

    Add garlic and shallots. Cook until fragrant. Add ribs and mix well to coat.

    Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir.

    Cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes

    Uncovers and stir

  6. 6

    Cover and simmer for another 15 minutes Check once a while. Add more water if needed.

    Uncovers, stir and let ribs continue to cook to the thickness you prefer.

  8. 8

    Taste and adjust. Add green onion and done.
