Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1

Fill a pot or steamer with water, about 1 to 2 inches deep. Place a steamer rack or basket inside the pot. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the steamer rack.

  2. 2

Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl. Add the water and 2 pinches of salt. Beat the mixture until the yolks and whites are well combined.

  3. 3

Pour the egg mixture through a strainer into a small bowl, removing any lumps for a smoother texture.

  4. 4

Carefully place the small bowl with the strained egg mixture into the steamer rack. Cover the bowl with a lid (or plate). Steam the eggs over medium heat for 8 minutes.

  5. 5

After 8 minutes, turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the steamer, covered, for an additional 2 minutes. This helps to ensure they are fully cooked through.

  6. 6

Once the eggs are done, remove the bowl from the steamer. Season the steamed eggs with sesame oil and soy sauce to taste. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
