Cinnamon buns with hazelnut creme filling and cream cheese icing

Directions

    In a bowl add the honey and milk and microwave for about 30 seconds - 1 minute or until warm (not too hot or cold)

    Add in the yeast, stir and set aside

    In your mixing bowl add the flour, sugar and salt

  4. 4

    Pour in the butter and yeast mixture once risen and activated (takes 5-10 min depending)

    Using your mixer with a kneading head, knead for 5 - 10 minutes until a dough ball forms and stops sticking to the sides of the bowl

    Grease a large bowl and place in the dough, turn over in the bowl so it’s greased and cover with a damp towel and rise for 1-2 hours (until risen or almost doubled in size)

    Once the dough has risen punch down dough and place on a counter top and roll out into a rectangle

    Smear a thin layer of butter over the dough with a spatula (optional), then drizzle on the hazelnut creme and spread with a spatula. Sprinkle with cinnamon

    Roll up the dough into a cigar and cut with a sharp knife into 8 - 10 slices

    Line a baking dish and add the cinnamon buns, cover and allow to rise for about 20-30 min until risen

    Preheat oven to 180°C/356°F while rising, when risen place in cinnamon buns into the oven

    While baking mix together cream cheese frosting

    Bake for about 15-25 minutes or until golden then remove from oven

    Spread the frosting on top once slightly cooled

    Top with Nutella drizzle and hazelnuts and enjoy!
