High protein mac and cheese recipe with bacon and broccoli.

    Cook the pasta.

    Fry the bacon until crispy.

    Cook the broccoli in the bacon fat until tender.

    Make the Béchamel sauce; Melt the butter in a small pot. Add the flour and combine to form a paste, allow the flour to cook out. Remove from heat, add in a small amount of milk and whisk until smooth. Return to the heat, add the remaining milk in small parts, whisking in between until thick.

    Stir in the paprika, salt and mustard.

    To the pasta, add the Béchamel sauce along with the broccoli. Add to an oven dish.

    Add the grated cheese over the top along with the bacon and bake at 180C for 8-10 minutes.
