    Whisk the starch and garlic powder together. Dredge the onion rings in the starch, dip them in egg and dredge again.

    Add your oil to a small pan and heat to 340 degrees — or just dip a bit of the onion into the oil, if it bubbles all around, it is ready.

    Fry until golden brown —3-4 minutes. Set aside.

    Heat a large skillet on high. Generously salt the top and bottom of your burgers with sea salt.

    When the pan is hot, sear the burger top and bottom and continue to cook and flip until it is cooked through.

    Add the mushrooms to the pan and fry until softened.

    Build your burger, add your sauce and dig in.
