Patty Melt with Grilled Onions
Smash burgers topped with melted cheese, grilled onions, and special sauce in between two slices of thick Texas toast!

Combine all the ingredients for the Special Sauce into a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper and adjust the ingredients to personal preference.

Melt 2 tbsps of Crystal Margarine in a sauté pan, and add your sliced onions. Cook down until brown, season to taste with salt and pepper.

Form your Plant-based Burger Patties meat into 4 equal size balls.

Preheat your frying pan on medium-high heat and place down 1-2 tbsps of Crystal Margarine.

Place down your meatballs, 2 at a time on the pan, leaving some space between them. Season with salt and pepper.

Place a small piece of parchment paper on top of the patty and smash down with a spatula until your patty is about ¼ inch thick – take a wooden spoon and apply more pressure on the spatula.

Once nicely browned, flip your patties and place a slice of cheese on each smash patty.

Add a tbsp of water to the pan and quickly place on a lid to let the cheese melt.

Toast your Texas toast on both sides in a skillet with Crystal Margarine.

Spread a generous amount of your special sauce on both pieces of toast.

Place your smash burgers onto the bottom piece of toast, then top with your grilled onions.
