    Heat some oil in a heavy skillet.

    Brown the spicy Italian sausage.

    Cook the finely diced onions until fragrant.

    Cook the Calabrian chillies until caramelized.

    Cook the minced garlic until fragrant.

    Deglaze with white wine and simmer for a few minutes.

    Cook the chopped mushrooms until soft.

    Cook the chopped spinach until wilted.

    Cook the gnocchi until they float.

    Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce.

    Finish with butter, Parmigiano Reggiano, and a splash of pasta water.
