    In a large skillet over medium add oil, onion, and garlic and cook for 2 minutes until translucent and fragrant.

    Next add in the chopped fresh tomatoes and reduce heat to medium low and add in remaining sauce ingredients.

    Stir everything together, cover and simmer while you work on your meatballs.

    Add all of meatball ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix together until evenly incorporated.

    Roll and shape and place on a plate.

    Makes about 12 meatballs.

    Drop the meatballs into the sauce one by one.

    Cover and cook for 20 minutes.

    Uncover, flip meatballs and cook for about 3 more minutes.

    Serve over pasta with fresh basil and parmesan cheese.
