Growing up our local chipper sold these (I used to work there too and would watch them make them) it was a simple flour and water batter and they just dipped the potato slices into it and deep fried in the dripping/lard in the fryers. It’s been 25 plus years since I’ve had them. So made my own today and they went down a treat
