Vietnamese Braised Pork (Thìt Kho Tàu)

    Cut the pork into medium sized cubes and marinate with minced shallots, fish sauce and ground black pepper. Leave for 15 mins.

    Stir continuously white sugar on low heat until it melts, caramelizes and turns darker in color (it burns quickly so make sure u pay attention). Add in the pork and stir so the dark sugar color coats the meat.

    Add in 300ml fresh coconut water and water, and on medium heat, braise for 1.5 hours

    Once your meat is tender, add in boiled eggs and stir gently. Let cook for another ~10 mins, then serve with steaming hot white rice
