Maple Apple Crumble

Preheat oven to 375F.

For the crumble: In a mixing bowl combine 1 cup flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add the cold butter and using your hands cut the butter and massage it into the dry ingredients until it starts to stick together and form crumbs the size of pebbles. Place in fridge while preparing apples.

Peel 6 granny smith apples and slice into small chunks. Combine with sugars, cinnamon, lemon juice, salt, corn starch and maple syrup.

Place the apples into an 8 or 9 inch baking dish. Sprinkle and cover with the crumble topping. Bake uncovered for 35-45 minutes or until golden and the apples are soft.
