    Add butter to a medium sized sauce pan. Let it melt and bubble.

    Add chopped apple, brown sugar, cinnamon & vanilla. Stir & Cook until apple is half cooked about 7-8 minutes.

    When it bubbles remove from heat. Add Maple Syrup. Transfer in a container & let it cool to room temperature.

    Preheat oven to 350f. Grease & line 2 x 8 inch cake pans with baking paper.

    In a bowl combine milk & vinegar. Add both types of sugar, oil & vanilla. Mix with a whisk until sugar is dissolved.

    Sift dry ingredients mix until smooth. Divide the cake batter between the cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until firm to touch.

    Allow the cakes to completely on a wire rack. Trim a very thin top layer of the sponge cakes before assembling the cake.

    Whip butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl with an electric whisk for 5 min until fluffy and creamy.

    Add cream, cinnamon, vanilla, whip until smooth. Add 5-6 scoops of frosting in between the cake layer.

    Spoon thick layer of apple pie filling on the frosting. Crumb coat & Frost the cake.

    Decorate with caramelized apple, baked crumble & drizzle caramel.
