My grilling journey has officially started with my very first wood pellet grill! I’ve tried smoked ribs from different places over the years, but I’ve always wanted to make my own. As someone with zero experience, I was so worried about overcooking or even burning them. It turns out, it wasn’t as tricky as I thought! The setup was straightforward, and managing the temperature felt intuitive. These ribs are tender, smoky, and absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to try more recipes on my new grill!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1

Add your favorite wood pellets to the grill, I recommend hickory, apple, or cherry. Preheat to 250°F.

  2. 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if not already done.

  3. 3

Drizzle a thin layer of olive oil (or mustard) on both sides of the ribs to act as a binder for the seasoning.

  4. 4

Generously apply your BBQ spice rub to both sides of the ribs, ensuring they are well-coated.

  5. 5

Place the ribs in the center of the grill grates.

  6. 6

Close the lid and let the ribs smoke undisturbed for the first 2 hours.

  7. 7

After 2 hours, spritz the ribs with the apple cider vinegar and apple juice mixture. Insert a temperature probe into the thickest part of the ribs.

  8. 8

Smoke until the internal temperature reaches 195-200°F, spritzing every 45 minutes.

  9. 9

Once the ribs are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
