    Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

    In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

    Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

    Fold in chocolate chips.

    Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

    Sprinkle chopped walnuts (if using) and additional chocolate chips on top.
