Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Season the ground beef with Garlic powder, Onion powder, Salt, Pepper and cook over medium heat.
- 2
You can drain the excess fat if there is a lot
- 3
Add Vegetables (diced bell pepper, onion, and jalapeños). You can let this cook for 5 minutes but you don’t have to.
- 4
Add Tomato Ingredients (tomato paste, tomato sauce, and crushed tomatoes). Stir everything together.
- 5
Add Beans (kidney beans)
- 6
Add beef broth and Stir to combine.
- 7
Season with approx 1 teaspoon of each of the following: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (I eyeballed these) and 2 chili seasoning packets.
- 8
Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer (covered) on low for at least 4 hours (you can simmer it longer for a deeper flavor)
- 9
Taste the chili and adjust the seasoning to your liking.
- 10
If you like a touch of sweetness, add the tablespoon of sugar.
- 11
Serve with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, bacon, jalapeños and cornbread.
