These “candied” walnuts or pecans taste exactly like little bites of banana bread. They’re refined sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, paleo, whole30, LA girl friendly and honestly whatever other labels you want to put on them.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 300°F. Line 2 baking sheets with a sheet of parchment.

  2. 2

Purée all ingredients, except nuts, until smooth. You may need to add a teaspoon or two of warm water to help the thick mixture purée.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, combine half the nuts with half of the purée and stir until the nuts are evenly coated. Pour onto one of the two parchment lined baking sheet and spread into an even single layer -make sure no nuts stay clumped together. Repeat with the second half of nuts and batter onto the second baking sheet.

  4. 4

Place both trays in middle racks of your oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Switch the trays and rotate halfway through. Bake and the nuts begin to get fragrant and turn light golden.
