    Preheat oven to 400.

    Combine all dry ingredients in a big bowl, then slowly mix in the melted vegan butter & vanilla so that everything gets wet and starts to form a crumble/chunky dough.

    Set aside.

    Make the berry compote over medium heat in a saucepan on the stove, constantly mixing all ingredients and letting it bubble up a bit to thicken.

    Set aside.

    Now press about 3/4 of the crumble mix evenly into a 9x13 glass baking dish.

    Pour the compote on top of that, then sprinkle the rest of the crumble on the top.

    Bake for about 35-40 minutes (berrys should be bubbling up a bit).

    When done, I highly recommend putting in the fridge for at least a couple hours to solidify the bars and the flavor, then cutting into squares.

    But they would be really good just straight out of the oven, but less easy to serve as singular squares probably!
