Spiced Vanilla Pear Vodka
This is such a fun & easy infusion to try this fall! It’s delicious on its own or added to cocktails, like a martini or a Moscow mule. The cocktail we made at the end is also a delicious use – pear juice, pomegranate juice, maple syrup, the infused vodka and some ginger beer to top it off
Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Add all ingredients to a large (1L+) jar, then cover with vodka. (We add both the vanilla bean seeds as well as the leftover pod for extra flavor.) Gently shake, then store in a cool, dark place. Let infuse for at least 3 days, or up to 2 weeks.
- 2
Strain the vodka through cheesecloth or a fine mesh sieve.
- 3
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice, then add 2 oz of the infused vodka, 3 oz pear juice, 1 oz pomegranate juice, 1/2 oz maple syrup or honey, 1/2 oz lemon juice. Shake well, then strain into a glass with ice and top off with ginger beer.
Notes
You can use some of the infused pears in a pie, a caramel sauce, or another baking recipe. Just make sure to use fresh pear, too, because the infused ones are quite strong!
