Easy Irish Soda Bread Farls
If you’ve ever been to Ireland, you’ve probably had a fry-up, complete with soda bread on the side. Soda bread is typically paired with sausage, bacon, and eggs, but why stop there?
Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Sieve your soda bread flour into a large mixing bowl
- 2
Pour half a pint of buttermilk into a jug with 1 tbsp oil, and mix
- 3
Add this mixture gradually to the flour along with a pinch of salt and mix with a fork. It will slowly come together and form into a dough
- 4
Knead for 5 mins, Shape your dough on a floured surface into a flat circle and cut into quarters
- 5
Once the dough is cut, place the floured soda bread on a frying pan (low to medium heat) for 8 minutes on each side. Be sure to flour the top of the soda bread before flipping. You can also cook these in the air fryer for 10 minutes at 160, flip and cook for another 5 minutes
Notes
Personally, I love soda bread with bacon, eggs and brown sauce. PS Brown sauce is elite.
