an apple pie and cake meet to make the ultimate fall dessert

    Preheat your oven to 350°F.

    Cream together the butter and sugars.

    Add sour cream, and then eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.

    Whisk your flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.

    Whisk your milk and extract in a separate jug.

    Add 1/3 of the dry mixture to the butter mixture and mix to combine.

    Add 1/2 the milk mixture and mix to combine.

    Repeat until both the dry and milk mixtures are all incorporated (making sure to finish on the dry mixture).

    To prepare the apple mixture, small dice your apple.

    Mix the apples with the cinnamon and brown sugar to coat.

    Grease a standard loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray and line with parchment, leaving overhang so it’s easy to take the cake out of the pan.

    Line the bottom of the pan with graham crackers.

    Add half of the cake batter on top.

    Top with the apples.

    Add the other half of the cake batter on top and use an offset spatula to make a smooth layer.

    Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

    Mix together all the glaze ingredients in a small bowl.

    Run an offset spatula around the side to release cake from the pan.

    Drizzle glaze on top.
