    Combine all the ingredients (apart from the stock)

    Heat a pan and add a little oil. Add the chicken in a single layer.

    Leave the chicken to colour on one side for 5 minutes before flipping over.

    Cook for another 5 minutes then turn again. Keep every few minutes.

    Cook thighs for 25 minutes in total. They can be left longer if you have time - they won't overcook, but will just become more tender.

    Breasts will take 15-20 minutes.

    Depending on the size of your pan you may need to start the chicken in batches. It will shrink so you can get more in the pan.

    Pour in the stock, let it bubble and reduce for a minute then serve with rice or noodles and something green.
