Apple Fritter Baked Oats
A combination of soft sweet oats layered with fresh buttery cinnamon apples covered in a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Cut the apple into small chunks.
- 2
Melt the butter over medium heat and then add in the apple. Sprinkle over the cinnamon and gently stir the apples until they are just soft.
- 3
Combine the milk and vinegar. Set aside for 10 minutes to thicken.
- 4
In a 9 inch square baking dish combine the dry ingredients. Add in the yoghurt, apple sauce and milk mixture. Mix until combined.
- 5
Top with apples and gently fold through. Sprinkle over a tbsp of coarse sugar.
- 6
Bake at 170 degrees C for 30 - 40 minutes, or until well risen and cooked through.
- 7
Whilst the oats are baking, make the glaze. Add the protein and icing sugar to a small jug and add in the milk slowly until you have a pourable consistency.
- 8
Poke holes in the cooked oats and pour the glaze over. Leave to cool completely.
- 9
Serve with a dusting of cinnamon.
