Classic Chocolate Brownies
These are the best gooey chocolate brownies with a lovely crinkly top and fudgy centre. They are super easy to make at home, just make sure you chill them in the fridge and then let them come back to room temperature before serving.
Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 160c fan. Chuck the butter, chocolate and a small pinch of salt into a saucepan and melt together slowly for a few minutes over a low heat, giving it a stir every now and then to help it come together.
- 2
Meanwhile, beat the sugar together with the eggs with an electric whisk for about 5 minutes until the mixture feel pretty smooth. You’re trying to dissolve as much of ethe sugar as possible to get a really swirly top to the finished brownies.

Pour the melted chocolate and butter into the sugar and egg mixture and mix together. Add the flour and coco powder and mix together. Pour into a lined 8x10 inch baking tin and bake for 28-30 minutes or until the sides of the brownie are pulling away and a skewer comes out a little dirty from the sides.

Cool in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight. Slice them chilled so you get neat squares and then leave for 2-3 hours to come to room temperature before serving.
