Beef in Black Bean Sauce
An absolute classic British Chinese takeaway dish!

Pop the beef into a bowl along with the corn flour, bicarbonate and soy then mix well, leave to stand for 20 minutes.

Stir fry the beef in very hot oil for 1-2 minutes then remove from the pan.

In the same pan fry the onion, peppers and sugar snaps for 2-3 minutes.

Add in the garlic and ginger, black bean paste, oyster sauce, soy sauce, shaoxing rice wine and the reserved beef, toss well and cook for a couple of minutes then add sugar to taste.

Serve with noodles or a portion of rice.
