A delicious Indian sweet made from fried dough balls soaked in a sweet rose-flavoured syrup.
Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Combine water, sugar, and cardamom pods in a pot. Heat on low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- 2
Sift together self-raising flour, Nestle Klim, cardamom powder, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- 3
Add Nestle condensed milk and ghee to the bowl. Mix until a soft, pliable dough forms.
- 4
Break off small pieces of dough, about 15g each. Roll them into balls or shape them into logs.
- 5
Heat oil in a deep pan to medium heat. Carefully drop the shaped dough into the hot oil.
- 6
Fry until golden brown, adjusting the heat as needed. Drain the fried jamuns on paper towels.
- 7
Add the fried jamuns to the warm syrup. Soak for 1-3 minutes, depending on your desired level of sweetness and softness.
- 8
Optionally, sprinkle with coconut for extra flavour and texture.
