    • 1 lb (450g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

    • 2 tbsp neutral oil

    • 1 tbsp fish sauce (or soy sauce for a vegan option)

    • 1 tbsp maggi sauce (alternatively hoisin)

    • 2 tbsp of cane sugar (alternatively maple syrup or honey)

    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 small red chili, thinly sliced (optional, for heat)

    • 2 medium shallots, thinly sliced

    • 2 tbsp store-bought fried shallots

    • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

    • Fresh cilantro for garnish

    Preheat oven to 180°C.
