Ingredients
Directions
- 1
Clean and dry your candle containers, then secure the wick to the bottom of each container using wick stickers or glue dots
- 2
Measure the amount of wax you’ll need based on your container size (1 pound of wax generally fills two 8-ounce jars)
- 3
Using a double boiler or heatproof bowl placed over a pot of boiling water, melt the wax completely, stirring occasionally to ensure even melting
- 4
Monitor the temperature of the wax with a thermometer, soy wax should reach about 170-180°f (75-82°c)
- 5
Once the wax has melted and cooled slightly (by about 10-15°f), add your essential oils if using, stirring well to mix
- 6
Carefully pour the melted wax into the containers, leaving a little space at the top, and secure the wick using a clothespin or wick holder to keep it centered
- 7
Allow the candles to cool and harden completely, this can take several hours, try not to move the containers during this time to avoid cracks or bubbles
- 8
Once the wax has fully set, trim the wick to about ¼ inch above the wax surface
- 9
For best results, let your candles cure for at least 24-48 hours before burning to allow the fragrance to fully blend with the wax
