Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Grease a 9x13” baking dish with butter and place a medium size skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

Cook the bacon in the skillet until crispy. Remove to a paper towel and drain most of the fat.

  3. 3

Dice the bacon, onion, garlic, and a handful of sage leaves.

  4. 4

Add butter to the same pan and sauté the onion for 2 minutes. Add the garlic and chopped sage for another 2 minutes.

  5. 5

Sprinkle the flour into the skillet and stir. Add the mustard, spices, and pumpkin purée.

  6. 6

Pour the milk into the pan and whisk thoroughly. Whisk in both cheeses.

  7. 7

Gently stir the bacon pieces and un-cooked fresh pasta into the cheese sauce. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish.

  8. 8

In a small bowl, stir together the breadcrumbs, butter, and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle on top of the mac and cheese.

  9. 9

Bake uncovered for 15 minutes until the top is crispy and bubbling.
